Office of Continuing Education & Professional Development The Saginaw Valley State University - Office of Continuing Education & Professional Development offers a variety of programs that support our local businesses and professional development. The Center provides Customized Training Programs designed specifically to meet business needs and, we provide ongoing Professional Development Courses with programs such as Occupational Therapy Continuing Education, SHRM certification workshops, Purchasing certification workshops, Best Practices for Nonprofits and Green Job Certificates. In addition we offer New Career Training Programs and e-Learning Courses that are designed to provide the skills necessary to acquire professional caliber positions for many in-demand occupations or to upgrade your current skills. SVSU also provides a practical approach to leadership development and supervisory training. Our unique series provides mid-Michigan executives or potential executives with a development opportunity that allows them to gain an accurate picture of themselves as leaders, with an enhanced understanding of the impact of their leadership on others.

	Art graduated from Ferris State in 1971 and started my career with Farm Bureau Insurance Company in September 1971. I feel good about providing the life, annuity, home, auto, business, and every other kind of insurance that my cleints need, because, I know through experience, that when they have a claim, Farm Bureau insurance will quickly, efficiently, and fairly settle that claim. I feel good because I know that I make the effort to understand the insurance product and the need for it. I make sure that I listen to my clients concerns, explore their insurance needs and provide for those needs, explaining the coverages that they've pruchased. Being a Farm Bureau insurance agent here in Saginaw has been a great experiaence for me-making new friends, helping new cleints, continuing to learn about the insurance products, sharing that information with my clients and friends, and helping them to make their futures more predicatable. I have been married to my wife Dottie for 38 years and have raised four children and am now enjoying five grandchildren. I have been a member of MMHBA for 25 years. In my free time, I enjoy sporting events and hunting.

	Cynthia Anguiano is currently employed at Menards hardware store as a cashier. She was born in Saginaw, MI, but grew up in Grand Rapids; MI. Cynthia attended Bridgeport/Spaulding schools from grades 8‐12 grades. Cynthia is currently a full time student at Delta College, working on the 3+1 program to Northwood for my Bachelors in Accounting. She is the daughter of Maria Anguiano, and Jimmy Flores. Cynthia is the second oldest out of seven siblings. Her hobbies include reading and just recently began piano lessons.

	Sostenez Espino was born and raised in Dallas Texas to Sostenez Sr. and Pauline Espino. Sostenez is a 3rd generation painter with 20 years of personal experience. As small business entrepreneurs, he and his wife own Espino's Painting of Saginaw Michigan. Sostenez is married to his beautiful wife Maria T and together they have four children. Mexican-American Council	The Mexican-American Council, Inc. (known as MAC) is described as a 501(c)(3) tax exempt non-profit organization, which was incorporated in 1992. This corporation was established as a Community Faith Based Organization, working primarily with Hispanic at-risk-youth to stay in school and community social service projects. In addition, MAC has an Immigration Consultation Service, a Board Member to the Saginaw Economic Development Corporation for the City of Saginaw, and has sponsored the Saginaw Latino Youth Basketball Tournament.

	Liza Hope – resides in Bay City Michigan and is currently employed by the Prevention and Youth Services where she serves as an instructor for the Drug, Alcohol and Anti Violence program designed for the youth of the Saginaw school system. Liza is also enrolled at Delta College working towards her degree in Social Work with an emphasis on child advocacy. Liza enjoys being actively involved in the community and enjoys volunteer work. Her lifetime goal is to open a resource center for teens and young adults. Liza is most importantly a proud mother to three teenagers

	Michigan Pipe & Valve - Saginaw is one of six independently owned branches in Michigan. The Saginaw branch was started in 1998 by Jim Jaime. Jim is a 1984 graduate of Saginaw Valley State University. Jim's sons Justin and Jon, and daughter-in-law Theresa have joined the company due to the continued growth of the company. Michigan Pipe & Valve is one of the largest distributors of water, storm and sanitary sewer products in Michigan. When Jim is not working he enjoys golf, traveling, family outings, and going to the casino with his wife. In addition, Michigan Pipe & Valve is the main sponsor and coordinates the annual Barb Schultz and Jeanette Hansen Memorial Golf Outing. All the proceeds go to local women with breast cancer.

	Justin Jaime, Operations/Special Project Manager, Michigan Pipe & Valve‐Saginaw Justin currently works for his father as the Operations and Special Project Manager of Michigan Pipe & Valve. He started working for his father during summers home from college and is currently in the transition process to become an owner. Before working full time at Michigan Pipe & Valve, Justin was owner/operator of Saginaw Silt Fencing, Inc. for four years. After graduating from Kalamazoo College with a B.A. in Mathematics, Justin moved to Miami to work for the non‐profit lay missionary organization Amor en Acción where he travelled extensively to the Dominican Republic and Haiti on mission trips. Justin is a member of Mid Michigan Hispanic Business Association, the Saginaw County Chamber of Commerce Young People Network, Saginaw Valley State University’s Family Business Program, and the Bay City County Club. He also is a member of Water and Sewer Distributors of America and American Water Works Association. Justin resides in Bay City with his wife Lindsey.

	Jason Robert Jaime Jason grew up in Saginaw and graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1997. He earned an Associate’s Degree from Delta College in 2002 and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Social Work in 2004 from SVSU. Jason then earned a Master of Social Work degree from the U of M. Jason works at Bay‐Arenac Behavioral Health as a Clinical Specialist/Therapist. He provides mental/behavioral health services to children with developmental disabilities and their families. Jason is responsible for working with families in their homes and the community to help them improve their daily functioning and enhance their lives. Jason lives in Saginaw with his wife Theresa and their son. Jason enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching sports and the Michigan outdoors.

	Alberto A. A. Jimenez was born in Saginaw Michigan. Mr. Jimenez is a graduate of Carrollton Omni Adult Education and currently employed by Wal‐Mart’s. Alberto has also works in the family business La Estrella Del Norte Bakery, “Home of the Flour Tortilla" which is owned by his parents Bernarda and Jose Jimenez. Alberto is a regular volunteer for the La Union Civica Mexican where he uses his design and decorating talents for the organizations many fundraisers. Alberto is also very interested in becoming a entrepreneur of his own business which would provide design and decorating services, and supplies for all party occasions. Alberto’s passion and expertise in the design and decorating service has earned him many customers that praise his work. Customer support and encouragement along with his love for design and decorating has brought him to the entrepreneur path.

	Leslie M. Medel was born and raised in Saginaw, Michigan. She received her Associates in Liberal Arts from Delta College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, majoring in Management, from Northwood University. Before a recent layoff, Leslie was employed as a Vocational Transition Specialist for Saginaw Learn to Earn Academy. Leslie believes that she now has an opportunity to re‐evaluate her career and seek a position that will ultimately use her skills and expertise. Leslie is a member of the Mid Michigan Hispanic Business Association (MMHBA). She is a single mother of two children and loves spending time with them.
